About Us

Our Mission: Strengthening individuals and families through behavioral health services and education.

Since 1961, the Center has expanded its services in order to meet the ever-changing and growing needs of our community. We serve more than 5,000 individuals annually through professional, affordable, counseling, early childhood education and vital ancillary services.

Now more than ever, our community needs mental health services and education for families to build a healthy connection. The Center offers eight outcome driven programs including CPYC (Counseling for Parents and Young Children), Tripe P (Positive Parenting Program), Teen Triple P, Prenatal Plus, SAFE Kids, General Counseling, Outpatient Substance Use Recovery and an Employee Assistance Program. Several of our programs are free of charge. Others are based on a sliding fee scale depending on insurance and income. Our professional staff includes Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, Mental Health Counselors and Psychologists. Services are offered in English, Spanish and Creole and may be provided in your home, child’s school, via telehealth, or at the agency.

The Center is proud to be nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation which ranks the Center among the elite of family service agencies throughout the country. The Center is also Accredited for Excellence in Nonprofit Management from Nonprofits First.
