Gavigan, Jr. served as a panelist for the Palm Beach County Planning Congress webinar, “Combatting the effects of COVID – How Planners Cope, Function and Thrive in the New Norm,” one of a seven-part weekly summer series titled “Planning Challenges 2021”.
 
The session addressed post-Covid trends and what changes may become the new norm for those tasked with creating and sustaining healthy Florida communities. Panelists discussed topics including the benefits and conveniences of virtual municipal meetings; changes in the way planning, zoning, and building transactions were handled during Covid; the migration of companies and individuals to Florida and its impact on real estate and development; and the lasting innovations and processes in the public and private sectors that came out of Covid.
