About Us
The Florida Outreach Center for the Blind is a nonprofit organization that has FREE CLASSES & TRAINING (in English, Spanish, French and Creole), in braille, assistive technology, daily living skills, mobility, and more. We have a peer support group, an outreach program for seniors, a Kids’ Club for blind children and their families, field trips, monthly ZOOM workshops, book club discussions, etc. FOCB does not just teach skills. It uses a holistic approach that addresses the general needs of its clients and their families. Through the skills learned at the center, individuals become more independent, enjoy a better quality of life, and are able to utilize community resources, pursue an education, and choose a career path. FOCB meets the high standards of integrity and performance set by the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER).
