About Us

The Legal Aid Society is a nonprofit charitable law firm dedicated to ensuring equal access to the justice system for the low-income, disadvantaged and traditionally underserved residents of Palm Beach County. Started in 1949 by one attorney whose sole purpose was to give free legal advice to the economically disadvantaged, the Legal Aid Society now has a staff of over 120, serves more than 8,000 clients and families each year, and manages an annual budget of $10.4 million. Legal Aid serves more than 8,000 clients each year, employs a staff of nearly 120, and addresses the following legal areas: Elder Advocacy, Family Advocacy, Children’s Advocacy, Health Advocacy, Individual Rights Advocacy, and Community Outreach.
